Momentum Matrix Capital Management is an alternative investment firm seeking to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for sophisticated investors, which include financial institutions, public and corporate pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and family offices.
Portfolio Investment Philosophy
Momentum Matrix Capital Management (MMCM) runs a long-biased equity strategy with a high conviction portfolio of 20-25 holdings. MMCM seeks to reduce volatility through industry and sector diversification where correlation of holdings relative to the overall portfolio may provide additional diversification benefits.
MMCM investment philosophy believes that a concentrated portfolio of high conviction equities can significantly outperform relevant benchmarks over the long term. MMCM also believes systematic or market risk can be hedged to protect market downside and mitigate risk. MMCM utilizes a Risk Hedge model that deploys an option overlay when the model indicates a Risk Off environment. MMCM may also use cash and treasuries as portfolio holdings to mitigate risk and reduce portfolio volatility.
Portfolio Construction
MMCM portfolio construction employs a bottom-up fundamental approach to invest in high-quality businesses that may provide opportunity for high growth and excess returns. MMCM seeks to invest with companies that have strong revenue and earnings growth, a sustainable competitive advantage and large addressable markets.
MMCM goal is to invest in companies over a multi-year timeframe and a continual adjustment to long-term expectations seeking to invest in companies with strong corporate management with a track record of capital efficiency.
